申請UC論文重大改革!
UC公佈今 (2016) 年開始論文大改革，從原本規定的兩篇加起來一千字，改成八個題目挑四個，每題最多350字。這是自2008年以來最大的改版，也是UC第一次使用多題選擇，簡短字數的模式。這對學生的挑戰又更大了，光是挑題目可能就很傷腦筋。請見以下名門教育提供八個題目的中文翻譯:
- 舉出跟形容一個你身為領導如何正面地影響別人、排解糾紛、或是長時間為團體貢獻的 例子。Describe an example of your leadership experience in which you have positively influenced others, helped resolve disputes, or contributed to group efforts over time.
- 每個人都有個充滿創意的一面，而這可以由各種不同的方法呈現: 解決問題、原創思考、藝術表達等等。請形容你創意的一面。Every person has a creative side, and it can be expressed in many ways: problem solving, original and innovative thinking, and artistically, to name a few. Describe how you express your creative side.
3.你最強的天分或才能是什麼?長久以來，你如何發展及表現你這項才能? What would you say is your greatest talent or skill? How have you developed and demonstrated that talent over time?
- 形容你如何把握一個受教育的機會，或是如何克服一個教育上的難關? Describe how you have taken advantage of a significant educational opportunity or worked to overcome an educational barrier you have faced.
- 形容你所面對過最大的挑戰，跟你如何一步步地克服這項挑戰。這項挑戰如何影響你學業上的成就? Describe the most significant challenge you have faced and the steps you have taken to overcome this challenge. How has this challenge affected your academic achievement?
- 形容你最喜歡的學科並解釋它對你的影響。Describe your favorite academic subject and explain how it has influenced you.
- 你如何讓你的學校或是社區變成更好的地方? What have you done to make your school or your community a better place?
- 你有那一項特質讓你跟其他申請加州大學的學生有所不同? What is the one thing that you think sets you apart from other candidates applying to the University of California?
