Algebra II

General Introduction

After Algebra I and Geometry students become familiar with system of equations, functions, trigonometry, and properties of shapes. Algebra II takes all of those concepts to the next level. Using previously acquired knowledge from those math courses, this course adds on to the list. Algebra II further enhances a students understanding of how functions work and their purpose. Students learn to analyze equations and graphs, learn to solve equations with more variables, and further indulge themselves in the usefulness of trigonometry.

Homework and Tests

Homework will be given out at the end of each class. Homework includes problems with ranging difficulty level to ensure the understanding of material learn in class. Problems require the use of all the formulas learned. Word problems will be included to help students understand what a question is asking and learn how to apply what they learned to find the particular solution.

Tests are a valued part of the course. It helps the student review what they have learned and expose the weaknesses that need to be worked on. The value of tests also lies in test taking skills. Tests will not only review all the material learned, but also familiarize students with a test-taking environment. This helps students becomes more confident every time they’re faced a test. Ivy Boost will assist students with such situations, teaching them various methods to tackle their tests.
