Tutoring Subject: Pre-Algebra

Ivyboost Education is pleased to announce a unique summer learning experience for young mathematicians. This preview course will give students a big head start for excelling in their regular math class in the Fall.  This course covers the subject in four weeks of 2-hour lessons on Monday to Friday.

The course includes:

  • Integers and Exponents
  • Rational and Real Numbers
  • Collecting, Displaying, and Analyzing Data
  • Plane Geometry, Perimeter, Area, and Volume
  • Ratios and Similarity
  • Percents
  • Probability
  • Equations and Inequalities
  • Graphing Lines
  • Sequences and Functions
  • Polynomials

Homework assignments will be given after every lesson to recap the day’s lesson, as well as an assignment relating to the topics to be covered in the next lesson. An assessment test on the first day will let us know the students’ math level. Weekly quizzes will show a student’s understanding of important concepts. Quiz questions will be taken from many different sources, including standardized tests such as the PSAT.

There are no prerequisites for enrolling. Although the course is suited primarily to students taking Pre-Algebra in the Fall, a student of any age who would like to be well-prepared for algebra can enjoy and benefit from the course.
