Common App Adds 2 More Essay Options
The Common App essay prompts for 2017-2018 have recently been revealed!
Other than some revised wording on a few prompts, 2 new essay prompts were added to the list:
- Describe a topic, idea, or concept you find so engaging that it makes you lose all track of time. Why does it captivate you? What or who do you turn to when you want to learn more?
- Share an essay on any topic of your choice. It can be one you’ve already written, one that responds to a different prompt, or one of your own design.
For students who are not yet seniors, what should you do with these prompts? You do not need to start writing yet, according to this article from the Huffington Post. What you can do is to read over the new prompts, or make sure to record some info when a significant event occurs in your academic life or personal life.
